Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team, ranked 10
th in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region, rolled past the Trojans of Anderson University (12-3, 6-3) picking up a 2-0 win at Dickson Field this evening. The win over the Trojans, who rank sixth in the region, improves Queens' record to 8-5-2 on the year and 6-2-1 in league play where they now sit fourth.
After beginning the second half tied 0-0 with Anderson, Queens would grab their win today scoring two goals in the second half.
Freshman forward
Charlotte Ring scored the Royals' first goal in the 52
nd minute after picking up a loose ball outside of the box and firing it into the back of the net for her eighth score of the season. Senior midfielder
Logan Vitale followed with her first goal of the season in the 71
st minute, capitalizing on a bad clearance from the Trojans inside the box.
Queens outshot the Trojans 10-6 today, putting eight shots on goal.
Tori Danchak finished the night with two saves for Queens, while Abby Helm totaled six for Anderson. Tonight's shutout was Danchak's sixth of the season, and the senior now ranks second in the league in goals-against average, .88.
The Royals will be back in action at Dickson Field on Saturday against Coker for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
