Box Score ANDERSON, S.C. – The Royals traveled to face the Trojans of Anderson University this afternoon, recording a 1-1 tie following 110 minutes of action. Queens University of Charlotte now sits at 2-5-1 on the season at 1-1-1 in the South Atlantic Conference, while Anderson's record is now 3-3-1 on the year and 1-1-1 in the SAC.
Lyssa Engle put the Trojans ahead early in today's game scoring a goal in the fifth minute of action. Maddie Volz was credited with the assist on the goal, and Anderson carried the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
Queens stepped up in the second half, putting three shots on goal in the opening 10 minutes of the period. The fourth shot on goal would be the one to tie the game, coming from the boot of freshman
Mary Pritts. Following an
Alana Jefferson header that was saved by Anderson's goalkeeper, Pritts rebounded, and shot the ball to knot the game at 1-1.
The 1-1 score would stand until the end of regulation, forcing the game into overtime where neither team was able to find the back of the net for the win.
Queens'
Tori Danchak completed the game with nine saves, while Sadie Lancaster of Anderson totaled five saves.
The Royals will next take on Coker on the road on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
