Trojans snap Royals winning streak

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ANDERSON, S.C. – The Royals softball team traveled to Anderson today with a four game winning streak under their belt. Facing a tough opponent Queens saw their streak broken as they lost both games by the score of 8-0 and 3-0.

The Royals went against a strong pitcher in Howser in game one and were limited to two hits against the home team Trojans' 11 for the game. Facing a resilient offensive team the Royals eventually were run ruled in the sixth inning. Picking up the hits for the Royals were Emma Schultz and Ashton Whitaker.

In game two the Royals offense struggled once again as they were only able to pick up three hits. Sophomore Lyndey McCurry was able to slow the red hot offense of the Trojans to just seven hits and three runs. Picking up hits for the Royals were McCurry, Whitney Britt, and Micaela Hayes.

The Royals are 19-21 on the season and 5-11 in conference play. They host Johnson C. Smith tomorrow for their senior day.
