Charlotte, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball's snapped an 8-match losing streak Wednesday night. The Royals defeated North Greenville University 3-1 (25-20; 17-25; 25-21; 25-17) at Ovens Athletics Center. With the win, the Royals improve to 4-8 while the Crusaders fall to 4-11 on the season.
The Royals were lead by an efficient evening by
Tanisha Lea (Efland, N.C., Orange Senior ) who collected 9 kills in just 19 attacks. Providing a game-high 11 kills was
Brittany Harvey (Matthews, N.C., Sun Valley ) who was seconded by
Erica Mazur (Waxhaw, N.C., Weddington) with 10 kills. Also having big night for Queens was
Erinn Moore (Longwood, Fla., Lake Mary) who scattered 36 assists throughout the four-game match.
North Greenville stayed competitive with a balanced attack, totaling seven players with 4 or more kills. Gabbrielle McKinley played an all-around game, adding 6 kills, 28 assists, and 10 digs. Also contributing with 8 kills and 7 digs was freshman Charity Koschel
Queens will jump back into conference play Friday at 6:30 P.M., when Erskine College visits Ovens Athletics Center.
