Queens Volleyball Overpowered in Tournament

Savannah, Ga. - The Queens University of Charlotte Royals volleyball team traveled to Armstrong Atlantic State University Friday for the first day of the Chatham Orthopedics Pirate Volleyball Classic. The Royals finished the day 0-2 after being swept by Wingate University and Lynne University.

Top performances by Queens included a 30-assist day by Erinn Moore (Longwood, Fla., Lake Mary) and Sarah Malpass' (Gainesville, Fla., Gainesville) contribution of 22 digs, 17 of which came in the first stanza of the day against Wingate.

Wingate defeated Queens 25-12, 25-10, 25-13 while Lynn overtook the Royals 25-15, 25-9, 25-8. Both teams would both finish the day 2-0.

Queens will resume play tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. vs. Lander and 4:30 p.m. vs. Flagler.
