CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Freshman Camilla Mallberg (Stockholm, Sweden, Danderyds Gymnasium) took home second place in the Pfeiffer University Dana Radar Intercollegiate at Ballantyne Resort in Charlotte, N.C. As a team, Queens finished second behind host Pfeiffer.
After one round, Mallberg was in 10th place and an even round on day two gave her the second place finish. Mallberg carded a score of 153 for the two days. She tied Pfeiffer's Charlene Reid.
The Royals entered the second day of play tied for second with Armstrong Atlantic with a card of 326. Queens carded 328, 654 total, in the second round, while Armstrong Atlantic shot a 352 and fell to fourth.
Three of the Royals five players in the tournament finished in the top 15. In addition to Mallberg, Julia Wennerlund (Bjarred, Sweden, Polhemskolan) placed ninth, 165, and Hillary Armel (Stephens City, Va. , Sherando ) took 11th-t, 167.
Pfeiffer won the Intercollegiate with a two-round total of 615.
The Royals play again on March 29 in the Wingate Invitational.
