Second Day of Queens Invitational Rained Out; Stetson Wins

Rain forced players off the course after nine holes

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-  The weather did not hold out in the second day of the Queens Invitational at TPC Sawgrass Monday afternoon. Stetson University takes home the top prize after the tied with Florida Southern broken with a fifth player score. Individually Silvie Dittertova of Florida Southern led the field with her one round total of 70.

The Invitational, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte, saw rain on the first day, but the weather broke and allowed for a great afternoon of golf. The same did not happen today. Most players were able to get through nine, at the least, when they were pulled from the Dye's Valley course due to heavy rain and lightning.

The Hatters' Jennifer Gartin's 78 from the first round gave Stetson the first place trophy. Florida Southern's fifth team player Marianne Anderson shot 81, tied her for 39th, but could not help them edge out the Hattters.

Brining home the hardware for individual finish is Dittertova in first, two under, Franziska Blum of Newberry College, one under, in second place and in third from Embry Riddle with an even round is Tara Allen.
