Hannah Long

Hannah Long enters her ninth season as head coach of the Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball program in 2024. She joined the Royals from Southwestern University where she served as the program's head coach for 12 seasons.

2023
  • Anna Law named ASUN Fan Vote Preseason Player of the Year.
  • Jordyn Johnson, Kayla McDuffie, Anna Law, and Jesse George were named to the 2024 College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team.
  • Jesse George named to the 2023 Eagle Challenge All-Tournament Team.
  • Jordyn Johnson named to the 2023 Wildcat Classic All-Tournament Team.
  • Snagged first win of the 2023 season over Stonehill in four sets.
  • Secured first ASUN win of the season against Central Arkansas (3-0).
  • Kendall Buish reached 1000 career assists against Stetson.
  • Jesse George reached 1000 career digs against North Florida.
2022
  • First Division I win against Stonehill College (08/27/22).
  • Alleigh Johnson named to UNC Asheville Invitational All-Tournament Team.
  • Alleigh Johnson surpassed 400 career kills in five-set victory over Jacksonville.
2021
  • Royals made seventh consecutive South Atlantic Conference Tournament appearance.
  • Five Royals recognized on All-Conference Teams

  • Brooke Farley notched her 1,000th career assist against Georgia College on Oct. 5. Farley exits the program with 1,569 total career assists, which ranks fifth in program history.
  • Kayla McDuffie earned SAC Defensive Player of the Week honors following a week that included 18.0 blocks for a 1.50 block per set average. She led the team in blocks with 108.0 and 1.01 blocks per set, which was fourth best in the conference.
  • Senior Lindsay Elmore recorded a team-high 337.0 points and 40 service aces, including a career-best six in the straight set sweep over Georgia College.
  • Head Coach Hannah Long secured her 100th career victory at Queens.
2020
  • Team was voted second in SAC preseason poll.
  • Brooke Farley was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Volleyball Specialist of the Week.
  • Casey Tarvin was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Volleyball Player of the Week.
  • JayCee Jones broke the women's volleyball program record for career digs with 25 digs against Mars Hill University. She ended her career with 1739 total digs.
  • Finished with a 6-4 record regular season record, making a semifinal appearance in the SAC Championships.
  • Saw Casey Tarvin be named to All-Conference First Team.
  • Saw Logan Witt named to All-Conference Second Team.
  • Saw JayCee Jones and Brooke Farley be name to All-Conference Honorable Mention Team.
2019
  • Queens advanced to the NCAA Regional for the third time in four years.
  • Earned the No. 2 overall seed.
  • The Royals were second among NCAA Division II schools in team digs per set, as well as landing among the nation's leaders in opponent hitting percentage and attacks per set.
2017
  • Long earned her 400th career coaching victory.
  • Led Queens to a 23-8 overall record.
  • Led Queens to its first South Atlantic Conference Championship.
  • The Royals advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the second straight season.
  • Six members of the team received postseason honors from the South Atlantic Conference.
  • The Royals also received three All-Region awards and four All-State honors from different organizations.
2016
  • The Royals finished this season with a record of 16-6 in the SAC, the highest record in program history.
  • The Royals advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Championship for the first time in program history.
  • They advanced to the semifinals in the conference tournament and were tabbed the No. 7 seed in the region.
Southwestern
  • Long built the program to a 362-93 overall record
  • Won three conference titles in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC).
  • Named SCAC Coach of the Year four-times
  • Claimed the American Volleyball Coaches Association's South Region Coach of the Year in 2009.
  • Helped to raise the team to a Top 25 division III program.
  • Produced nine AVCA All-American nods
  • Produced five SCAC player of the year recipients.  
  • Led the Pirates to 10 NCAA Regional Tournament appearances across her 12 years as head coach. 
  • Led the team to six regional semifinals with her latest coming in 2013.
  • Reached the regional finals match twice.

  • Played both volleyball and basketball.
  • Spent time as a volleyball team captain.
  • Made both the Big Sky all-conference team and the all-academic team.
  • She earned school's Female Athlete of the Year in 1999 and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1998. 
Personal
Long has a master's degree in educational administration from Texas A&M and a bachelor's degree from Portland State in mathematics and communication.
