Fifth year standout Kenny Dye has played an instrumental part in the Royals impressive start to the season, including a 6-2 mark in November. Through eight games, Dye averaged 17.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game on a 52-percent shooting mark. The Jacksonville, N.C. native delivered one of the most historic shots in program history against Marshall in the season opener as the guard drained a go-ahead layup to propel the Royals to their first D1 win. At the 2022 Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic, Dye guided the Royals to the Rose Hall Division Championship as he averaged 20.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists at the tournament. After the tournament, Dye was named to the Jamaica Classic All-Tournament Team for his performance.
