Fatima Alanis capped off an incredible inaugural season with back-to-back standout performances at the NCAA Championships. The sophomore took second place at the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championships with a time of 20:37.7 and received All-Region honors for the run. The Mexico native helped the Royals win the Southeast Region for the fourth consecutive year. At the NCAA National Championships, Alanis took third behind two Grand Valley State runners and received All-America honors. Queens managed to finish sixth at the championships which is the best finish in program history.
