Queens University of Charlotte Athletics

Nicholas Arakelian of the men's swimming team has been named September InterCon Male Student-Athlete of the Month.

Arakelian led Queens to dual meet wins over defending NCAA Division II National Champion Emory University and then No. 8 Wingate University as well as a second place finish in the Virginia Tech Spring Challenge. The senior collected nine individual wins during the month and was honored as both a National Division II Male Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming and a Bluegrass Mountain Conference Male Swimmer of the Week. The Royals are currently ranked No. 1 overall in the most recent  CSAA-TYR Top 25 Division II Poll and Arakelian leads all NCAA Division II swimmers with the fastest time in the 100-yard breasstroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 200-yard I.M.
