Daniel Camps earns the InterCon Male Student-Athlete of the Month Award after leading the Royals to a hot 8-0 start during the month of November.Â
After helping the Royals upset VCU in an exhibition game to kick-off the season, Camps opened the regular season scoring a career-high 25 points in Queens' win over Armstrong Atlantic. He then matched that career-high a few weeks later in the Royals' win over Lees-McRae College, getting featured on ESPN's SportsCenter Top-10 for a one-handed slam over his defender. For the month, Camps recorded three double-doubles.
Currently, Camps leads the Royals, averaging 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Camps also ranks fifth in the nation in field goal percentage, shooting 73.3-percent from the floor.
"Daniel played the past month with passion and commitment," said Queens Men's Basketball Head Coach Bart Lundy. "The amount of exposure that Daniel's play on SportsCenter Top-10 has provided for Queens nationally can not be measured. His dunk was watched by millions and the VCU game is still being talked about by national media."Â
