Nikia Squire earns the women’s InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month Award for February making this the second time in a row that she has been honored. Squire ran a 7.35 in the 60 meter dash at the UCS invite on February 20 ranking her first in the country in the event. She later at the same meet jumped 5.92 meters in the long jump which eventually ranked her 10th in the country.

"Nikia is a talented athlete that has continued to work hard to become the best athlete she is capable of being, said Jim Vahrenkamp, director of cross country and track and field. "Words cannot begin to describe how fortunate we are to have such a talented athlete like Nikia but more so a role model that demonstrates to others what commitment looks like. Nikia defines what success looks like if you put in the hard work as well as take care of yourself on and off the track."
