Colleen Cannon joined Queens Athletics as assistant athletic director for compliance in the spring of 2019 coming to the Royals from Limestone College where she served as the assistant director of compliance for six years.
Cannon is responsible for the daily oversight of all aspects of compliance and academic services leading the athletics compliance function, and directing and coordinating the institution’s efforts to comply with and monitor all NCAA, SAC, and institutional rules. While holding the responsibility for certifying the department's 600-plus student-athletes, Cannon also create's and facilitates compliance educational sessions. Furthermore, she assists in NCAA reporting and monitoring of academic and compliance related activities and serves as the athletics and financial aid liason.Â

In addition to being the assistant director of compliance for Limestone's department that housed as many as 800 student-athletes at one point, Cannon also served as the department's senior woman administrator for three years and was instrumental in helping to develop Limestone Athletics' policies, procedures, and strategic plan as a member of the senior management team. She was also acting Chair of the Woman Athletic Council at Limestone and a Title IX investigator. Moreover, Cannon ran the LC2 tutoring Program with local elementary schools and sat on the Conference Carolinas Executive Committee and the Conference Carolinas Branding Committee.Â

Cannon is a Women Leaders in College Sports member having graduated from their Institute for Administrative Advancement in 2016. She was also a 2015 convention grant recipient and conference nominee. Additionally, Cannon is a NAAC member and committee representative and an MOAA member and 2014 Governance Academy graduate. She also serves on the NCAA DII Nominating Committee.Â

Prior to joining the Saints, Cannon was an athletic marketing assistant and compliance assistant at the University of Tampa.

Cannon received a Master's in Business Administration with a concentration in management from Nova Southeastern University where she also obtained an Organizational Leadership Certificate. She also holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of South Florida.
