Chip Wintringham

Chip Wintringham comes to Queens from High Point University where he was an athletic training intern for two years. During his time at High Point, Wintringham worked closely with the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country teams.  He also gained experience as a trainer at the baseball, soccer, and lacrosse camps. 
 
From 2012-2013 Wintringham was a graduate student athletic trainer for the University of Virginia, also working closely with the men’s and women’s track and field and cross-country, and women’s golf teams. This experience helped Wintringham to gain valuable experience in cardiac screening/evaluation, female athlete triad, and athletes with eating disorders. Additionally, he obtained extensive experience in active release techniques, Gratson, and soft tissue massage. 
 
“I’m excited to join Queens and look forward to being a part of the best Division II sports medicine staff in the country,” Wintringham stated.
 
Wintringham graduated in May 2012 from Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va., with a degree in physical education-athletic training. He received his master’s degree in kinesiology – athletic training from the UVA.
