John D. Hannon

John D. Hannon is entering his fourth season as the assistant coach of the Queens women's soccer team.

Hannon, a Gastonia, N.C. native, is not a stranger to Queens Athletics. Previously, he was a four-year defensive starter for the Queens men’s soccer team from 2003-2006 and team captain in 2006. On the field Hannon helped the Royals claim consecutive Carolina Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) championships, advance to the NCAA tournament twice, once to the Elite Eight in 2006 and become nationally ranked (#13) in 2006.

For all of his hard work, Hannon was named the Queens University of Charlotte Male Student-Athlete the Year for 2006-2007. Hannon was recognized by CVAC in 2005 to the all-tournament team and 2006 as second team all-conference. In addition to the CVAC accolades, the Southeast Region named him All-Southeast Regional Third team and to the Southeast Region All-Tournament team in 2006.

Hannon, who was awarded the trustee scholarship four consecutive years, holds a bachelor’s degree from Queens in business with a minor in pre-law, and a Masters in Business Administration from the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte.
