Villen Earns Singles Win as Queens Falls to Wingate

THE SHORT STORY:
Queens men's tennis returned to action Wednesday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center, falling 6-1 to Wingate. The Royals picked up a point in singles competition and competed in tight sets across the lineup, but Wingate controlled doubles play to build an early advantage.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wingate secured the doubles point with 6-3 wins on courts one and two. The No. 3 doubles match was halted with Queens trailing 3-4.
- Queens earned its lone point in singles at No. 3, where Noe Villen delivered a straight-set victory, 6-4, 6-3.
- Alex Morris and Diego Jimenez competed at the top half of the lineup, while Tanner Cooley pushed his match to a third-set tiebreak at No. 6 before coming up short.
- Wingate claimed the remaining singles courts in straight sets to seal the match.
