THE SHORT STORY:
Queens opened its spring season on Thursday afternoon with a 5-0 setback against Charlotte at Lifetime Fitness. The Royals dropped the doubles point and were unable to recover in singles action, with four matches decided in straight sets and two left unfinished.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Charlotte clinched the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. The No. 2 match was left unfinished with Queens trailing 2-4.
- In singles, Mathilde Bris, Rachel Byrne, Sofia Benhaddouch, and Kaila Angeles all fell in straight sets.
- Zoe Cvitanovic was still competing at the top spot when the match was called. She trailed 1-6, 0-5.
- Daniela Tomala's match at No. 6 was also left unfinished after a 0-6 first set.
