FORT MYERS, FLA. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team put together a competitive performance on the road Friday afternoon but ultimately came up short in a 5-2 ASUN loss to Florida Gulf Coast at the FGCU Tennis Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Royals claimed the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.

Win Steveker and
Jan Montero Diaz secured a clutch 7-5 win at the top spot, while
Luke Coppage and
Lukas Gosselin delivered a 6-4 victory at No. 3 to clinch the early advantage.
- In singles play, Queens picked up one win courtesy of
Win Steveker, who continued his strong form with a 6-3, 6-4 decision on court two.

Laurenz Blickwede fought hard at No. 1 but dropped a tight second set tiebreak, falling 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).

Jan Montero Diaz put together a strong opening set but couldn't maintain momentum, falling 6-4, 6-1 to FGCU's Guglielmo Stefanacci at No. 3 singles.

Gavin Ryan and
Jake Grimes each pushed their matches to the limit, with Grimes forcing a third-set tiebreak before falling 10-4 at No. 5.
NEXT UP
The Royals will look to bounce back on Sunday, March 23, when they travel to DeLand for a 2 p.m. ASUN matchup at Stetson.
