WORDS FROM SONNI DYER
"We're thrilled to return to the No. 1 spot entering the National Champs this year. In 2022, we entered as No. 1 and finished second by nine points. Last year, we entered as No. 2 to finish second again. The top five DI programs are incredibly tight. So, we expect a tough battle on Nov. 9.
Individually, Beth Cook leads our squad and the time gap of her ERQ victory bolsters our team ranking as well.
So, it's super important for fans to know that rankings are time-based calculations. Yet, the National Championships are won on points and finish positions. At the East Regional, we made up 10 points inside of the final two minutes of the race. That speaks to how dynamic and exciting our young sport truly is.
At the end of the day, the rankings confirm that we're again in the mix and this squad is a very special team that has yet to have their best race together. Our best race is still in front of us."
