TEAMS: Queens, Catawba, Duquesne, Emmanuel, James Madison, LaSalle, Lenoir-Rhyne, Nova Southeastern, UNC Asheville, Wingate
TEAM NOTES:
- Queens heads into their mid-season meet after each squad took victories against Old Dominion on Nov. 3. After Abigail Zboran's win in the 100-yard fly with a 55.53 and in her ASUN-leading finish time of 2:03.30 in the 200 yard IM, the freshman won ASUN Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 7.
- Emmanuel (Division II) has yet to take a loss on either the men's or women's side this season. Most recently, the men's and the women's squad each defeated Montevallo, Life, Berry, Sewanee, and Bethel in the Sewanee Invite on Oct 30. Additionally, the Emmanuel women's team are the defending Conference Carolinas women's swimming champions.
- The Catawba (Division II) men's squad currently sport a 4-1 record while the women (Ranked 25th nationally) sport a 5-1 record. Most recently, Maks Minichowski and Marit Reckmann earned conference honors for their performances against Lenoir-Rhyne on Oct. 12.
- Lenoir-Rhyne (Division II) is no stranger to Queens, Catawba, or Wingate as the four used to compete against each other in the South Atlantic Conference. The Bears most recently struggled against Wingate on both sides as the women suffered a 226-33 defeat and the men fell 222-34 on Oct. 28.
- Wingate (Division II) has found early success in the water as the women's squad ranks ninth nationally while the men rank eighth. Wingate already met with Queens earlier this season in Charlotte with the Royals taking both the women's and men's victories. On Nov. 8, swimmers Nina Azirovic and Damir Ipkaev earned SAC Swimmer of the Week honors for their performances after the Emory Invitational in Atlanta.
- The defending Division II National Women's Swimming Champions in Nova Southeastern heads into the Fall Frenzy after a pair of swimmers (Emily Trieschmann, Inigo Marina) earned SSC swimmer of the week awards for their swims against Lynn and Florida International the week prior. Between the two, the swimmers earned seven individual event wins.
- Duquesne comes to Charlotte after defeating George Mason and LaSalle at the Atlantic 10 Classic on Oct. 27-28. Notably, Haley Scholer and Lexi Sundgren of the women's team earned Atlantic 10 weekly honors on Oct. 31 after their swims at the Atlantic 10 Classic.
- LaSalle, another Atlantic 10 competitor, have had a rough start to the 2023 season. The Explorers haven't found a victory yet, most recently falling in a tight 169-1078 loss to Villanova on Nov. 4.
- The UNC Asheville women's swimmers will finally get a taste of new ASUN-competitor Queens at the Fall Frenzy this weekend. The Bulldogs have only suffered one loss (ECU) in 2023 and most recently swept ASUN swimming honors in Abby Parks and Morgan Coughlen after their meet at VMI on Nov. 12.
- James Madison joins in on the Fall Frenzy after swiping a close win against Marshall on Nov. 4. This win marked their first dual-meet victory of the season after falling to Liberty and East Carolina two weeks prior.
