ATLANTA, GA. – Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball standout
AJ McKee was named ASUN Player of the Week for the first time in program history since the transition to Division 1, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
The Charlotte native played a pivotal role in the Royals 2-0 week, including impressive victories over FGCU and Stetson. On the week, McKee averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on 41 percent shooting from the field.
McKee has consistently dominated this season as the sophomore has reached double figures in all 23 games. McKee is the only player across the league to reach double figures in every game as he is averaging 18.5 points per game against league opponents which is fourth-best in the ASUN.
McKee became the first player in program history, and fifth across the entire department to land ASUN Player of the Week honors in the new era.
The Royals return to action on Thursday, Feb. 2
nd when they travel to Lipscomb University. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. from Nashville and the game will be broadcasted on ESPN Plus.
