JACKSONVILLE, ALA. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (1-5-4 overall, 1-2-1 ASUN) made history on Sunday afternoon taking down the Jacksonville State Gamecocks (2-9 overall, 0-3 ASUN) by a final score of 2-0. The monumental victory marked the Royals first Division I victory under the direction of Head Coach Shannon Neely Noel.

Turning Point
The turning point of the afternoon proved to be the Royals offensive attack ripping 18 shots. Daniela Calm opened the scoring in the 42^nd minute before Nia Gaither extended the lead in the 78^th minute with a goal.

• Daniela Calm scored her first career goal in the 42^nd minute giving the Royals an early advantage.
• Nia Gaither provided insurance in the 78^th minute with her team-leading third goal this season. The senior has 22 goals and 47 career points.
• Freshman Connie Dutton dished out her first career assist on the Nia Gaither goal.
• The Royals offense continues to build momentum as they ripped a season-high 18 shots. In the last two league matches, the Royals have totaled 27 shots. Logan Farrelly, Nia Gaither, Grace Guglielmo, and Noelle Roberts posted multi-shot performances.
• Grace Guglielmo posted a career-high five shots, including one on frame.
• Senior Erica Turner notched her program-high 29^th career shutout and third this season. The Gamecocks took 11 shots and Turner picked up three saves.
• The Royals won the corners battle 4-3 and placed more shots on goal at 6-4.
• 17 Royals saw the pitch on the afternoon. Erica Turner, Morgan Reeb, Jada Palmer, and Keely Jackson played a full 90 minutes.

"This is a historic day for this current team and the Queens Women's Soccer program. This program is built on over 30 years of incredible women that have brought us to this. The players have been focused and committed through a challenging road to this first win, and it came in true form to the team. They fought for 90 minutes together. Dani Calm scored her first collegiate goal, and we had big minutes from some players off our bench that really made the difference in the match. I am proud of this unwaivering commitment the team has had to this transition and each other. They have shown great care for one another and this is just another in the line of many firsts this season!"
