Queens Falls in Overtime to Lenoir-Rhyne

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The second-seeded Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team fell 2-1 in overtime this afternoon to fourth-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne University in the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championship. With this loss, Queens closes the season at 7-2-1.

Following a scoreless first half, the Royals got on the board first when Alyssa Edwards was found by Mia Manuel streaking towards the goal. She would put the ball in the back of the net in the 55th minute for her second goal of the season.

The score remained tied until the end of regulation forcing the overtime period where Lenoir-Rhyne's Neve Austin netted the game's golden goal in the 97th minute.

Both teams recorded eight shots in today's game as the Bears placed four on goal to Queens' one. Queens' Erica Turner finished with two saves on the day.
