Edwards Nets Game-Winner; Royals Extend Win Streak to Four

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team collected a conference win over Tusculum University, beating them 1-0 on the road this evening. With the win, the Royals improved their record to 13-3-1 overall and 9-1-1 in South Atlantic Conference play and secured one of the top two spots in the league with tonight's game wrapping the regular season.
 
The Royals put on an offensive clinic tonight outshooting the Pioneers 21-5 and placing 10 shots on goal.
 
Queens' persistence on the offensive end would pay off late in the game when forward Alyssa Edwards came up huge scoring the game-winner in the 86th minute to give Queens the 1-0 victory.
 
Edwards was key in the Royals' aggressive attack this evening recording four shots, two of which were on goal. Mia Manuel found herself with four shots as well but could not connect with the back of the net. Karen Juarez and reigning SAC Offensive Player of the Week Maddy Leone both totaled three shots apiece.
 
Erica Turner totaled three saves to add yet another shutout win, giving the goalkeeper 11 on the season.
