TEMPE, Ariz. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's triathlon NCAA varsity squad won its sixth straight Division II title at the USA-Triathlon Collegiate National Championships on Saturday afternoon picking up right where they left off after the 2020 Championships were canceled due to COVID-19.  The Royals had six triathletes place in the top 11.
 
"Varsity title number six has been a very special one for us today," Queens head triathlon coach Sonni Dyer stated. "Initially we were down to Colorado Mesa out of the water, but the ladies did exactly what we execute in our grouping up together and moving our chase bike pack forward. When we get five or six scorers in the same bike pack, we are one of the best teams on the bike, regardless of division."
 
The Royals finished with 21 points atop Wingate University, Lenoir-Rhyne, Colorado Mesa, Davis and Elkins, and Black Hills State University, respectively.
 
Natalie Bash led the charge for the Royals placing third overall in Divison II with a time of 1:07:53. Following behind her was teammate Katharina Krosta who took fifth overall in 1:08:28 while Hannah Moloney placed sixth in 1:08:31.
 
Additionally, Sam McInnes placed seventh with a time of 1:08:38, Sarka Pustova finished in ninth at 1:08:52, and Jana Millat came in 11th at 1:09:06. Lia Federbusch finished in 43rd with a time of 1:17:04.
 
Dyer concluded stating, "I'm very proud of the way that they find one another and earn the titles. And ultimately, it makes our program the winningest varsity triathlon program in the young history of our sport."
