MARS HILL, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (8-6-1; 4-5-1) took down Mars Hill in its final regular season match by a score of 1-0 from Meares Stadium.
With the victory, the Royals moved into seventh in the South Atlantic Conference standings and clinched a spot in the conference tournament.Â

Charlotte Ring scored in the eighth minute of play for the Royals as she took a pass from teammate
Victoria Templin and lofted the ball in the net from just inside the box for the game-winner and only score of the match.Â

The Royals defense held the Lions to just five shots and only one shot on goal. Queens' goalie
Rachel Quest picked up the shutout win in goal with one save, her fourth shutout of the season and 20th of her career.Â

The Royals pick up a crucial three points in the conference standings and now reside in seventh place in the South Atlantic Conference standings at the end of the regular season.Â

Ring led the Royals with five shots, all of which went on goal.
Dani Diaz fired four shots and two on goal, while
Lulu Phan and
Emma Rose Stockton also recorded two shots on goal.Â

Queens finished with 15 shots and put nearly all on goal as it finished with 12 shots on net. Eleven of those shots game in the first half, a half in which Mars Hill recorded eight saves.Â
