CHARLOTTE, N.C. –The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team fell 1-0 in a double overtime game with Wingate University in the quarterfinal round of the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Championships. The Royals end their season at 10-7, while the Bulldogs advance to the semifinals with an overall record of 11-5-1.

Following two scoreless halves of play that saw a 13 shots from each team and no goal, tonight's game headed into overtime. Queens'
Alana Jefferson saw an opportunity to score with 7:50 to play in the first overtime period, but her shot would be turned away by Wingate goalkeeper Alexis Jones. The Bulldogs would put two shots on goal in the period, but
Rachel Quest of Queens picked up saves on both which led to a second period of extra time.

The Bulldogs found their golden goal in the 105
th minute of action from the boot of Colleen Zickert. Morgan Gray earned the assist on the play after heading a cross down to Zickert six yards in front of the net.

Queens was outshot 20-16 this evening, putting seven shots on goal to Wingate's 10 shots on goal. Quest totaled nine saves in loss, while Jones of Wingate recorded seven saves.
