Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team defeated Coker College (4-10, 2-8) this afternoon by a score of 4-1 to improve to 9-5-2 on the year and 7-2-1 in South Atlantic Conference play.
The Royals pulled ahead scoring two goals in the opening half of today's game to help secure their win this afternoon.
Logan Vitale would net the first goal of the day beating her defender just inside the box before taking a shot that soared into the net in the ninth minute.
Charlotte Ring then followed with a goal in the 33
rd after receiving a pass from
Kathy Fisher.
In the second half,
Jill Clark found the back of the net for the first time this season heading a beautiful ball served into the box by Fisher past Coker's keeper in the 50
th. Fisher would also tally a goal on the day to go along with her two assists, scoring in the 77
th.
Coker's Anna Vig spoiled Queens' hopes of notching their seventh shutout of the season, scoring a goal in the 72
nd after rebounding a saved shot from Ariana Tashjian.
Queens outshot the Cobras 42-6, putting 21 shots on goal.
Tori Danchak and
Emily Mager split time in the net to total two saves. Shelby Middleton of Coker recorded 17 saves on the day.

The Royals will be back in action on October 31 when they travel to take on Brevard College to close the regular season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
