Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte welcomed Pfeiffer University to Dickson Field this evening for a nonconference women's soccer game that ended in a 1-1 draw. The Royals now sit at 6-5-2 on the year, while Pfeiffer holds a 4-7-2 record.
Following a scoreless first half of play, the Falcons would get on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 61
st minute. Just after subbing into the game, Marcy Santana rebounded a shot that was blocked by a defender and put it in the net for the 1-0 lead.
Queens would respond in the 78
th with a goal from
Kathy Fisher. Fisher dribbled up the right wing before taking a shot from outside of the box that landed in the far left corner of the net.
Mary Stringini earned the assist on the play.
Fisher's game-tying goal would take the game into overtime where neither team was able to find the back of the net.
The Royals outshot Pfeiffer 24-11, putting 11 shots on goal this evening. Additionally, Queens totaled 14 corner kicks.
Tori Danchak took the win in goal after totaling seven saves, while Gracie Herbert totaled 10 saves for Pfeiffer.
The Royals will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Newberry College to take on the Wolves at 12:30 p.m.
