Women’s soccer takes down Coker

Box Score HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer picked up a 2-0 road win at Coker College this afternoon. The Royals improve to 2-1-1 in South Atlantic Conference play and 3-5-1 on the year with the win, while the Cobras fall to 1-3 in the league and 2-6 on the season.
 
Queens' Sydney Michelin put the Royals ahead early with a goal at minute 14. Kelli Gottry recorded the assist on the play. The Royals carried the 1-0 lead into the break.
 
That score would hold until freshman midfielder Alana Jefferson put the Royals ahead 2-0 in the 84th minute after receiving a pass from Mary Pritts.
 
The Royals dominated the Cobras on the offensive end outshooting Coker, 29-5. Goalkeeper Tori Danchak recorded four saves in the 90 minutes of action, while Lizz Morris of the Cobras tallied 19 saves.
 
Queens returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to North Greenville University. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
