Women’s soccer completes season at Tusculum

Box Score GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team wrapped up their 2013 campaign at Tusculum College this evening in the 2013 Food Lion SAC Women's Soccer Championships. The Royals fell 1-0 to the Pioneers in the quarterfinal round ending their season at 10-6-3.

"We are so proud of the success the program had this year in the SAC," stated Queens head coach Katie Talbert. "Not only did we compete in the conference, but we had huge region wins earning numerous region rankings in both polls."

Despite taking 11 shots, the Royals were unable to find the back of the net tonight.

A penalty kick at 36 minutes from Nikki Arthur would prove to be costly as time continued to wind down and the Royals had not put a point on the board.

Tusculum's Marissa Williams recorded her 11th shutout of the season with the win in goal. Queens' Jessyca Young finished the day with three saves ending her season at 9-5-2.

Coach Talbert closed stating, "There is so much to be proud of and to build on, but we will miss our seniors greatly."
