Volleyball takes down Erskine in four sets

Box Score DUE WEST, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Volleyball team extended their winning streak to six matches today by beating the Fleet Feet of Erskine College by the score of 3-1. The Royals took the first set 25-22, but dropped the next by the score of 25-19.  From there the Royals took control of the match and won the next two sets by the scores of 25-18, and 25-20.
 
Leading the Royals attack was Keri Kemp (Lake Mary) with 14 kills, and McKenzie Martin (Stratford) joined her on top of the stat sheet with 49 assists. Defensively the Royals were led in digs by Taylor Riley (E.C. Glass) with 14, and she was joined in double digits by Jocelyn Kellinger (Cave Spring)Brittney Barren (Blaine), and Erin Mooney (Cardinal Mooney).
 
Head coach Lettie Wilkes attributed the win to the fact that the team “served aggressively and took control in blocking, and as the match went on kept in their flow and system.”
 
The Royals currently stand at 7-4 overall, and 3-0 in Conference Carolinas play. Queens travels to North Greenville University Friday to take on the Crusaders.
