NEW YORK, N.Y. - The National Lacrosse League has announced the All-Pro Teams for the 2011 season and former Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse player Stephan LeBlanc (Restoule, Ontario, Highland) was named to the second team after his second season in the league.
Leblanc was an All-American and Conference Carolinas Player of the Year as a senior. His rookie year in the NLL he was named Rookie of the Year after he helped Toronto to the NLL championship game. This Toronto is back in the championship game again as the Rock will look to bring home the championship hardware this time.
The All-Pro First Team consists of Calgary Roughnecks transition player Jeff Shattler, Rochester Knighthawks defenseman Pat McCready and goaltender Matt Vinc, Minnesota Swarm forward Ryan Benesch, Washington Stealth forward Rhys Duch, and Boston Blazers forward Dan Dawson.
Joining Leblanc on the All-Pro Second Team are forwards Lewis Ratcliff of the Washington Stealth and John Tavares of the Buffalo Bandits, transition player Brodie Merrill of the Edmonton Rush, defenseman Mike Carnegie of the Calgary Roughnecks, and goaltender Anthony Cosmo of the Boston Blazers.
First teamer Shattler was also named MVP on Thursday evening.
