Queens Volleyball Silenced by Lander

Savannah, Ga. - The Queens University of Charlotte Royals volleyball team competed in day two of the Chatham Orthopedics Pirate Volleyball Classic Saturday.  The Royals were swept by Lander University in their first match of the day, 14-25; 10-25; 20-25.

Brittany Harvey (Matthews, N.C., Sun Valley ) helped keep Queens competitive during the match, tallying 7 kills and 3 blocks (1 solo, 2 assists). Erinn Moore (Longwood, Fla., Lake Mary) assisted on 43% of the Royals points by adding 19 assists to the stat line. Erica Mazur (Waxhaw, N.C., Weddington) contributed defensively, registering 12 digs.

Lander was led by the all-around play of Lacy Redwine, who totaled 4 assists, 4 aces, and 23 digs. Her 4 aces came during a stretch in the second game when she served 16 consecutive Bearcat points.

Queens, 3-7 (0-2), next match will be against Conference Carolinas rival Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C. on September 15, 7:00 p.m.
