Four Game Win Streak Snapped By Lenoir-Rhyne

Women’s soccer falls 1-0 in nonconference action

HICKORY, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team limited Lenoir-Rhyne University to just one goal in the nonconference contest in Hickory, N.C., tonight. The loss snaps a four-game win streak by the Royals and puts them at 4-5-1 overall while the Bears improve to 8-3.

The game-winning goal was scored 17 minutes into play by Rebecca Lin.

The Royals saw 28 shots in the game, but limited the Bears to just 10 on goal and one goal. Goalie Kristen Kornacki (Glen Allen, Va., Deep Run )made eight saves in the 90 minutes of action.

Queens took five shots, each by a different player. Bear goalkeeper Katelyn Burwell made two saves in the contest.

The Royals will look to rebound on Oct. 4 when they face Conference Carolinas opponent Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C. at 3pm.
