The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team hosted Lees-McRae College tonight, Sept. 15, at Ovens Athletics Center. The Royals battled with the Bobcats, but fell 3-0 by scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-9. Queens drops to 1-9 overall and 1-2 in Conference Carolinas action while the visitors improve to 4-8 overall and 1-0 in league play.
After dropping the first game, Queens rallied back in game two. The offense served for 12 of the 23 points Queens scored and held the lead until the 22nd point.
Brittany Harvey (Matthews, N.C., Sun Valley ) and Keatin McKenzie (Coral Springs, Fla., Cardinal Gibbons )led Queens with seven kills apiece. Veronica Arenander (Cincinnati, Ohio, Walnut Hill )recorded five, but on defense she had seven blocks.
Queens hosts Converse College on Wednesday night at 6:30pm in Conference Carolinas action.
