DUE WEST, S.C.- Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team scored two first half goals to take a 2-0 Conference Carolinas win over Erskine on Saturday afternoon at Huggins Field. Queens improved to 9-7-2 and 9-0-1 in Conference Carolinas while Erskine dropped to 5-11 and 5-3 in Conference Carolinas.
Kathryn Sylvester (Raleigh, N.C., Apex ) put Queens on the board at 21:07 when she took a Kelsey Howard (Marietta, Ga., Dominion Christian) pass and scored past Erskine goalie Jordan Lawson.
Queens scored again at 36:32 on a Sami Striano (Clearwater, Fla., Countryside )goal assisted by Rose Balderson (Trappe, Md., Saints Peter and Paul ). The goal is marks Striano's second goal in as many games. On Tuesday she put the game-winner in the back of the net to lift Queens over Pfeiffer by a score of 1-0.
Queens out-shot Erskine 14-5 on the afternoon. Lawson made 4 saves in goal.
Queens hosts Tusculum College on Wed., Oct. 29 at 6pm in the last regular season home game of the year.
