Class of 1998
Women's Tennis 1994-1998
Anna Edwards Gay was a 1998 graduate of Queens University of Charlotte. In her freshman year she made an immediate impact in the number one singles position, a position she would hold on to for all four years. A member of the 1995 NCAA team, she had the distinction of not only being on the first women’s tennis team to go to the NCAA’s, but the first Queens team to earn a bid. She was also named the ITA Rookie of the Year for the region.
A strong start to solid career only led her to greater accomplishments while in a Royals uniform. Before she graduated she was named first team all-conference and became the first player at Queens to be ranked nationally as she saw herself ranked 38th in the land and sixth regionally.
In addition to her on court efforts, Gay was also stellar off the court earning the Queens Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Currently, Gay works as a senior account executive for Capitol Broadcasting Company.
Gay and her husband, Sean, have two children, Cooper (seven) and Max (four). In her free time she enjoys working out with her neighborhood triathlon group, boating, and watching her children play sports.
