Womens Basketball With Samaritans Feet

In October of 2015, the womens basketball team partnered with the national organization: Samaritans Feet. For the athletes, this was a great opportunity to give back to the community, get to know the children in the area, and help people by donating 7424shoes. For the young students, this was the chance to meet and hangout with college kids. For others, this was an opportunity for not only new shoes, but shoes that were the correct size. Shoes that fit. To receive what they may not be fortunate enough to already possess. It was a chance for Queens to impact those in their backyard.

The Charlotte Hounds were also involved in this event and helped in planning the morning drills and exercises. Each player worked directly with the disabled athletes and taught the basics of the game including throwing, catching, cradling, and shooting. Freshmen, Audrey Chesser stated, "it was really neat seeing the excitement that these athletes got from learning the game of lacrosse. They were so happy to be there and working with us." Freshmen Hannah Kearney says "It was a very eye opening experience for us. It reminded us how lucky we are to play a game we love. We should never take things like this for granted."
