CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team had four players chosen to the Preseason All-Conference team by Inside Lacrosse Face Off Magazine in the 2009 Yearbook. The magazine comes out each year during preseason and details the top team in the country and each conference for Divisions I, II and III. In addition to the four Preseason All-Conference selections, the Royals had one player named to the Preseason All-American Honorable Mention squad.
Queens' four players to be tabbed as Preseason All-Conference are seniors Stephan LeBlanc (Restoule, Ontario, Highland), Cory Thomas (Columbia, Md., River Hill), Murray Forbes (Durham, N.C., Riverside) and junior Hunter Roof (Prince Frederick, Md., Calverton).
Of the 13 preseason All-Conference selections, only Limestone College had more players recognized than the Royals with five. The magazine also pegs Queens to finish third in Conference Carolinas.
Thomas was one of five Conference Carolinas players to be named as a Preseason All-American. He was named to the Honorable Mention squad along with one Belmont Abbey College player. Limestone College had three players named All-American Second Team.
The Royals start the 2009 season on the road at Roanoke College in Roanoke, Va. The Maroons, a Division III school, enter the season with a preseason ranking of No.7 from Inside Lacrosse.
